I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to be part of Sarah and Jeff's life for a brief time during such a special moment in their lives. When I met them at their home to do photos of their new baby girl Claire, she was less than two weeks old. The feel in the house was amazing - what you might expect of a household with a brand new baby. Things were slow, calm and focused. That focus clearly being the new baby! When I walked in I found Sarah and Claire cuddling in their rocking chair - Sarah the picture of motherhood and Claire in a milk induced nap session :) Most of the session was spent admiring Sarah and all of her newborn expressions or "baby gazing" as Claire summed up so nicely! It was fun to see such loving and attentive parents in action.
Baby Miles
I had the pleasure of visiting and photographing two great friends soon after they gave birth to their first child, a sweet baby boy. It hasn't even been two years, but I still have managed to forget how helpless newborns are. Watching Ryan and Heather perform his constant care with duty and love was a sweet reminder of how life changing and ego-altering children are - and how welcome those changes are! In the final moments of the shoot, Heather put her nose to her son's and coo'ed, that lit up Miles' face and set us all to smiles. That boy sure loves his mama! I feel so excited for our friends and their journey to come, and I feel so blessed to have been part of it for a morning.
Fireball Bills
Thank you to the Bills family for a lovely morning and a beautiful shoot! Their newborn, nicknamed "Fireball" by their oldest son, was so precious. Surrounded by this family you can't help but feel so happy for this little boy because of the family he gets to grow up in!
Wier Family
The Wier family scheduled a shoot to celebrate their daughter Daphne's second birthday. We were all excited about using Union Station for our shoot with its fun furniture, natural light and city energy. Daphne supplied plenty of the energy and fun as well! She had the cutest "cheese!" and kept us all laughing. She was interested in everything, and enjoyed getting to explore a new place. Mandy and Kyle were dedicated parents, always available to share her smiles and facilitate her next adventure. It was so much fun getting to work with this family and I feel delighted with the story we told of Daphne and her two year old ambitions!
Banasiak Holiday Shoot
I met the Banasiak crew a few days before Christmas while their family was all together in one place celebrating the holidays. The family dynamic was great - the kids lead the pack with their energy and devotion to exploration. The family was warm and inviting, all playing their important roles to keep the energy high and the mood fun. They tooled around the site enjoying each other and looking of opportunities for great pictures. The fun around the christmas tree, father or mother holding child, grandparents responding to their grandchild's calls with love - these are moments to remember and cherish. This was beautiful shoot I feel lucky to have gotten to be apart of!
